We are fortunate to be one of the first-ever owners of the all-new 2024 Toyota Tacoma. The truck we bought is a new TRD Off-Road base model. This is nearly as basic as a new Tacoma TRD Off-road can get. Here is how much we paid.
We wanted to be the first to get one, and we wanted to get it as affordably as possible. We knew we had to get the TRD Off-Road model because we are based in Colorado and we do serious off-road testing. The TRD Off-Road model comes with a selectable locking rear differential and 32-inch all-terrain tires. We also had to have at least a basic towing package (including a hitch and wiring).
We considered purchasing a new Tacoma with a manual transmission, but Toyota told us that these trucks would not be built or shipped first. This is why we have this 2.4-liter turbo-I4-powered new Taco with 278 horsepower.
We did not want the side steps or a black-chrome exhaust tip, but this configuration could not be changed when we were selecting our first new Tacoma.
We wanted to get a disconnecting front anti-sway bar and a trailer brake controller, but these options were not available on this first batch of trucks. In the end, we paid $45,330 plus taxes and registration fees.
