The U.S. midsize pickup truck segment is starting to cool down. The Nissan Frontier, Toyota Tacoma, and GMC Canyon saw their sales go up significantly in Q2 2026 when compared to Q2 2025. However, the Ford Ranger and most others declined. Here are all the details. Let’s dig in!
The Toyota Tacoma continues to stretch its lead over competition. This may just be another record setting sales year for the Tacoma in the U.S. Tacoma sales increased by nearly 5% last quarter. The Nissan Frontier continues to impress. It’s a more affordable pickup with competitive features and capability. The Frontier is currently in 3rd sales spot, but if this sales growth continues – it may dethrone the Chevy Colorado for 2nd place.
The Chevy Colorado, Ford Ranger, Honda Ridgeline, and the Jeep Gladiator all saw their numbers decrease. Especially noteworthy are the Ford Ranger and the Jeep Gladiator sales declines. It’s not currently clear why these sales numbers are this way.
