Volvo Trucks continue their semi truck renewal for the North American market with the introduction of an all-new Volvo VNX lineup of vocational heavy haulers. The new VNX is meant to do heavy work on the dirt and on the pavement. The VNX joins Volvo’s new VNL and VNR lineup of long haul and regional haul semi trucks. Here are all of the details about the new VNX. Let’s dig in!
The Volvo VNX promises one of the safest, most comfortable, technologically laden, and capable lineup of vocational semi trucks. At the base of it all is Volvo’s D13 turbo-diesel engine with up to 540 horsepower and 1,950 lb-ft of torque. This engine is also capable of up to 630 braking horsepower to slow down those heavy loads.

Volvo Trucks say the new VNX lineup offers more ultra high strength steel than competitors in the cab construction and standard driver-side curtain airbags. The VNX uses Volvo’s Dynamic Steering system that provides additional control and less fatigue for the driver. There is also an innovative Remote Steer function. This gives the operator complete control of the truck from the outside. This feature can be used when the truck’s speed is below 5 MPH. This should change the game for drivers who must bring their big rigs into tight spaces, especially off-road.
Every new VNX comes with a factory-installed 4G telematics module. This allows for over-the-air updates, monitoring, and maintenance. The new Volvo VNX lineup will be available for sales starting on October 26, 2026.
