Why pull a modern Toyota truck, a Hilux Double-cab pickup, with Toyota RC trucks (Tamiya Bruisers)? Because it’s fun of course! If TFLtruck had the budget, we would pull our Ford Raptor all over the place. Granted, it would take (most likely) twice as many RC trucks as were needed to pull the Toyota Hilux Double-cab pickup truck in this video.
Toyota did this before, back in the ’80s, they pulled a much lighter Toyota Hilux with 14 RC trucks. This time, it looks like 15 Tamiya 1:10 scale, electric Toyota Hiluxs to pull a modern, much heavier (3.21 ton) pickup truck. That’s pretty close to the same weight of the Toyota Tacoma 4X4 TRD Pro we drive in the United States.
The Tamiya 4X4 Bruiser can generate 2-kg of pulling pressure and needed an additional 500 grams of weight to aid in traction. This example may be the closest Toyota comes to a electric pickup truck, at least for the near future.

Here’s more on the Tamiya Bruiser (basically, a Toyota Hilux). Look at all of the settings and power options you have for this RC truck. There are other RC trucks out there to be sure, this is still a cool way to market both RC truck and the new Toyota Hilux.
