The Ford F-100 “Chargezilla” video series is wrapping up with a deep dive look into our EV swap project. I sit down with Mavrick Knoles from LegacyEV.com to go over the decision process and the components we chose for our conversion.
We knew that we wanted to make our 1965 Ford truck powerful enough to daily drive and have enough range to drive an off-road trail or run some daily errands. We came up with a 2-motor combination from Hyper9 and repurposed Tesla battery modules for an approximate capacity of 70 kWh. It gives the truck a driving range of 140-150 miles.
