FCA and Ram Trucks recently announced that the new Ram HD trucks will arrive in “January 2019”. This is an aggressive timeframe and the launch of the fully redesigned heavy duty trucks is just seven or eight short months away. It’s natural that we would see these prototype trucks testing.
These detailed shots of the Ram HD trucks show a crew cab long bed and a regular cab truck. These appear to be the non-diesel models, judging by the tail pipes. Are these still hiding a 6.4L or 5.7L HEMI V8 under the hood? This is very likely.
The prototypes reveal just enough details to show many horizontal bars in the front grille, similar to the latest grille design of the 2019 Ram 1500.

The light details are not as evident because of the heavy camouflage, but what details are available show an overall look that resembles the current Ram HD trucks with a hint of influence from the 2019 Ram 1500. It’s either that or this is what the Ram team want us to think by using clever camouflage.
Here is a 2018 Ram HD 3500 is going up against a Ford F350 in an Ike Gauntlet™ towing challenge with nearly 30,000 lbs in tow.
