Check out the extra long cabs and long beds on these 2017 Ford Super Duty prototypes! These test vehicles were caught refueling new Columbus, Ohio. The truck pictured above has large diameter wheel and could very well be the next King Ranch or Platinum model. It still has the cab extension behind the rear doors, but it looks to be more like a part of an elaborate camouflage, than a true “mega cab”.

This may be a mid-grade XLT or Lariat model.

This next prototype still has all the heavy cladding, but the cab also appears to be longer than on the current Super Duty. This truck is towing a large trailer and looks to have the six and a half foot bed.

How long can you go?

Now, this last prototype is the longest of them all! It’s sporting an eight foot bed and a huge additional section on the crew cab. This truck might as well be a limo. Judging by the exhaust, this one is powered by a gasoline engine. There are rumors that the next Super Duty will come with the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 as one of the engine options. Is that feasible for this stretched out monster? Well, the 2017 Super Duty will use aluminum body construction that should cut out at least 700 lbs of curb weight. So, the V6 EcoBoost may be within the realm of possibility.

Did you notice that the speckled prototype has an LED lamp on the bottom of the side-mirror to illuminate the ground around it, much like the one on the 2015 F-150.
