The all-new 2016 Nissan Titan will debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (according to Edmunds). Those of you hoping to the see the new Titan at the New York show this April will have to wait longer (we are there with you). Can the next generation Titan play with the major players or is it too big too late? Is the 5.0L V8 Cummins turbo diesel too big for a light duty pickup truck? And is the 2016 model year release too late in the game?
The power promise of the new Cummins V8 is great, but will it have respectable fuel economy to back it up? Efficiency is a huge topic right now, as all manufacturers are trying various ways to satisfy government regulations and also winning customers with superior MPGs.
Report from Edmunds states that the 2016 Titan will also offer a V6 gasoline engine and a regular cab configuration to offer another choice for worker trucks. Making an all-new pickup truck is not easy, but hopefully Nissan can accelerate the process while not making any significant quality related mistakes.
