The refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 is now in dealerships across the country. If you are looking to buy the most affordable new 2024 Ford F-150 hybrid, then you have to be a Ford fleet customer or get an XLT crew cab. Here is how Ford’s newest hybrid powertrain and pricing stack up against competition. Let’s dig in.

The F-150 Powerboost hybrid powertrain was first introduced for the 2021 model year, when the 14th generation F-150 made its debut. It combines a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor and a small battery for a rating of 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque.

The 2024 F-150 hybrid 4WD EPA economy rating is 22 MPG city, 24 MPG highway, and 23 MPG combined. The hybrid powertrain is only offered with 4WD and in a crew cab configuration. I expected the city MPG rating to be higher due to my experience of owning a 2021 F-150 hybrid for two years and over 20,000 miles. My F-150 hybrid was more efficient during stop-and-go city driving, than driving 65-75 mph on the highway.

The F-150 hybrid can be optioned with a class-leading 7.2kW power export feature (class-leading for non-EV pickup truck). The 7.2kW inverter is a $750 option for the XLT trim.

Hybrid Truck Comparison

The base 2024 Ford F-150 XLT 4WD crew cab hybrid starts at $58,540 (according to Ford’s online configurator). Ford says they offer a base XL hybrid to fleet customers, but there is no starting price available at this time. Fleet order truck may vary based on many factors: region, number of trucks in the fleet order, and more. Ford used to offer the F-150 hybrid XL work truck to any type of customer before.

There is currently one other full-size hybrid pickup truck available on sale now. It’s the 2024 Toyota Tundra. The Tundra i-FORCE MAX hybrid 2WD has a starting price of $59,475. The Tundra hybrid 4WD starts at $62,475. The 2024 F-150 hybrid is a better deal.
