We are getting an exciting addition to our long-term test fleet. It’s an all-new 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor and it’s all thanks to you. You read TFLtruck.com and watch our videos. This allows us to purchase two or three long-term pickup truck each year. We purchase these trucks with our money, so our skin is in the game. As always, thank you for the support.
Please let us know which reviews or tests you would like to see or which question you have.
Yes, we know that Ranger Raptor pickup trucks have been on sale around the world for many years: the 1st generation and this 2nd-generation. Now, it’s our turn in the U.S. to experience this high-performance midsize pickup truck.
It’s packing a twin-turbo 3.0L V6 with a rating of 405 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. It has a 10-speed automatic transmission, 4WD Auto, FOX Live dampers, and front/rear lockers. Although it’s a special off-road-focused pickup truck, it has nearly 1,400 lbs of payload and 5,510 lbs of towing capacity. This is a great payload number, but the tow-rating could be a little higher to satisfy more use cases.
We will put through the complete TFLtruck battery of tests: drag race, Ike GauntletTM world’s toughest towing test, off-road trail testing, fuel efficiency testing, comparisons, and much more! The high-performance midsize segment is getting very exciting this year: the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro / Trailhunter and 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison / GMC Canyon AT4X AEV are also reaching their first customers very soon.
These comparisons will be very exciting.
