Ram Trucks sold 62,250 half-ton and heavy duty pickups in May 2019 in the United States. This is a huge 33% increase over May of last year. FCA says the demand for light duty and heavy duty trucks remains very strong as the numbers show.
General Motors and Ford started to report sales on a quarterly basis, so we will not have the latest numbers for the F-150, Silverado/Sierra trucks until next month.
Overall Ram pickup trucks are up 22% in Year-To-Date (YTD) numbers, which is significant when you think about how brand loyal many of the truck customers are.
Toyota Tundra had a good sales month in May with 10,657 trucks sold. The Toyota half-ton is down -2.7% in YTD sales.
Nissan Titan trucks continue to struggle with significant declines in sales: -15.6% for the month and -19.9% YTD. We will have to what Nissan does for the 2020 model year to recover from the sales slide.
