The Street Truck Is Back! Ford Officially Reveals the 2025 F-150 Lobo

As much hype as there's been around off-road trucks, Ford is expanding its offerings for the street

Following up on the Maverick Lobo’s launch, we now have the new F-150 Lobo.

Back in 2023, rumors started to swirl that Ford was bringing back a purpose-built street truck, as prototype trucks roamed the streets and the automaker trademarked a specific name: “Lobo”. Now, the wolf is at our door — well, the second one actually, considering the Maverick Lobo is already on the scene — and we have more details from Detroit on the new 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo.

At the moment, you can spec up a street truck of sorts with the F-150 STX. The Lobo, however, is a $4,695 package on top of the STX that takes a more aggressive styling approach, while also offering up V8 power and additional equipment over the standard STX model. While Ford opted for the Agate Black Metallic exterior paint for the most sinister look, you can get the F-150 Lobo in four other shades: Atlas Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray, Oxford White and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat.

At its core, the 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo brings the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 as its exclusive powertrain option, offering up 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. This package is also only available in SuperCrew cab configuration with a 5.5-foot bed, and comes standard with a 3.73 electronic locking rear axle and a two-speed automatic 4WD system. Ford says the Lobo’s maximum towing capacity is 7,900 pounds, while its payload capacity tops out at 1,450 pounds.

In keeping with the street truck theme, one notable mechanical change for this package is at the back. Compared to other F-150 models, Ford dropped the rear end by two inches, arguably giving it a much cleaner profile (even if there seems to be a price you pay, in terms of payload against

On the styling front, the Ford F-150 Lobo gets a ton of blacked-out trim elements, including the hood vents, dual exhaust outlets and badging. This package also brings in 22-inch gloss black wheels and different taillights, while the most distinctive feature is a unique upper grille with a four-section light bar running through the center.

With a starting price of $59,995 including destination, the 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo is effectively positioned as the street-focused alternative to the Tremor (which, ironically, used to be the sporty street truck option in 2014, as a sort of baby Raptor). While you technically can get the F-150 STX at a significantly cheaper price — particularly if you forego 4WD and stick to the 2.7L EcoBoost instead of a V8 — building an apples-to-apples version puts you nearly in the same ball park, before you factor in that $4,695 for the Lobo package.
