(UPDATE: We added a video walkaround of the new ProMaster below) A fully-refreshed 2023 Ram ProMaster is here. It’s sporting a new style, updated powertrain, the latest technology, and still plenty of capability. An all-electric version of the ProMaster is coming in 2023, and Amazon is the first customer. Here are all the details.
The new 2023 ProMaster has a new sleek style that is very similar to what has been available overseas with the Fiat Ducato. Under the hood is the latest 3.6-liter gasoline V6 (the Pentastar) that is rated at 276 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 9-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. This is the only powertrain available in the new ProMaster until a battery-electric version comes to market next year.
The inside of the new ProMaster may as well be a well-equipped SUV. The van is available with the latest adaptive cruise control with stop & go, lane keep assist, park assist, and more. The available 10-inch infotainment screen provides access to the latest Uconnect 5 interface. This system is quick to respond and offers a 360-degree camera, navigation, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
The 2023 ProMaster is ready for work with a selection of several lengths and roof heights. It is still a front-wheel-drive van, and the interior dimensions are the same as before. There is a new super-high roof configuration. It’s available on the 13-foot cargo van. It adds 10 inches of headroom when compared to the next configuration. It results in best-in-class cargo volume and cargo height. A roll-up rear door is also available as opposed to a standard barn-style rear door configuration.
The 2023 Ram ProMaster is rated to tow up to 6,910 lbs and has a maximum payload of 4,680 lbs (depending on configuration).
