The all-new 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is just a few hours away (on TFLoffroad and TFLcar), but the F-150 Raptor R chatter continues to increase. A recent report by the Ford Authority dug up a document that suggests the upcoming Raptor R will be powered by a V8 engine. Which V8 engine? There are plenty of rumors, but there is no official confirmation from Ford (more on this later).
Here is part of the document that the Ford Authority published.
Now, a Ford PR manager has published these two images on social media.
If the new Bronco Raptor, F-150 Raptor, and Ranger Raptor are represented by the F-22 Raptor fighter jet – then the upcoming Raptor R is something beyond that. All rumors suggest that the Raptor R truck’s engine will be a version of the 5.2-liter supercharged “Predator” V8. A version of this engine can also be found in the Mustang Shelby GT500. How much power will such an engine produce? Could it be around 750 horsepower? We will have to wait and see. Ford says that this top dog Raptor truck is coming this year.
What do you think – what does the Raptor R have to bring to the table in a world that also has a 702 hp Ram TRX and a 1,000 hp GMC Hummer EV?
