The long-awaited 2022 Toyota Tundra configurator is finally live. You can go to the Toyota website and “build your own” new Tundra.
There are five trim levels currently available. They are the SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, and 1794. Two cab configurations and three bed lengths can be had. There is just one powertrain currently available. It is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 that is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The base Tundra SR engine output is lower than that for the rest of the new Tundra lineup.
Most of the selections are fairly straight forward, except some trim level like the SR5 and the Limited have a mind-boggling number of optional packages that may or may not work together. The Limited trim model has 13 optional package, some of which include the TRD Off-Road package. The configurator tool of course help to reconsile the differences, but the optional package choice is nonetheless intimidating.
Pricing varies from just over $35,000 for a 2WD Tundra SR to over $63,000 for an optioned 4×4 Tundra 1794 Edition.
