The latest FCA-UAW workforce agreement outlines a Ram TRX truck debut in 2020. It is part of a $9 billion investment over the next four years.
2021 Ram TRX
We still do not know many official details about the upcoming high-powered Ram 1500 TRX off-road truck. All signs point to it being a direct competitor to a Ford F-150 Raptor. The TRX is rumored to use a version of a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 with upwards of 707 horsepower, although the actual rating may be different when it actually goes into production.
The other rumors include the truck using heavy-duty axles, driveline components, and latest adjustable Bilstein off-road shocks.
We have seen some Ram TRX prototypes testing in the wild already. The prototypes definitely had a V8 exhaust sound with an occasional supercharger whine, according to our sources.
The manufacturing plan states that the Ram TRX will be produced at the Sterling Heights Assembly plant alongside the new Ram 1500 (DT) lineup of trucks.
The Ram 1500 Classic (DS) will continue production for some at the Warren Truck Assembly plant. It will be joined there by the new Jeep Wagoneed/Grand Wagoneer full-size SUVs. Which frame/chassis will the Wagoneer use? This remains to be seen.
