2017 Ram Power Wagon vs. Cliffhanger 2.0 trail

The winter is slowly stepping away from the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The snow is melting and the temperatures continue to rise. This mean we can take the 2017 Ram Power Wagon on the difficult Cliffhanger 2.0 off-road trail high in the Rockies. This steep and rocky trail is simply impassable when it’s packed with snow.

We have impatiently waited for this opportunity because the Cliffhanger 2.0 is a trail where we take all specialty off-road pickup trucks. Will the Power Wagon laugh at this trail, just as it laughed at the other trailer we took it on? This truck has taken on Fin-n-Things trail in Moab, UT with barely touching the bottom of the hitch. It strolled up the Gold Mine Hill trail with no sweat.

The truck is packing a 6.4L HEMI V8 and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine is rated at 410 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. It’s got two beefy axles with 4.10 gears, locking front and rear differentials, and a disconnecting front sway bar. The Warn winch is there just for insurance.

There is a fork in the trail on Cliffhanger 2.0.  We call the two parts: truth and dare. The dare side is way more difficult. It has larger loose rocks and a steeper ledge to climb over at the end, where it rejoins the truth side. We put the Power Wagon on the dare side. How will it do?
