Nissan Titan Warrior Concept

The 2016 Nissan Titan XD has just hit showrooms about three weeks ago, and Nissan is presenting the Warrior Concept at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show – the next step of the Titan pickup truck development. This beast of a truck sits three inches higher than the XD, rides on 37-inch tires, and packs a 5.0-liter V8 Cummins turbo-diesel. It’s an off-road focused concept that aims in the space somewhere between the Ford Raptor and the Ram Power Wagon.

The Titan Warrior has an attractive and aggressive stance that resembles that of the Raptor. However, don’t forget that this is physically a very large truck that will give the Power Wagon a run for its money.

Designated as “modern armor” by the Nissan design team responsible for the Titan’s development, the chiseled body panels are painted with a custom “Thunder” matte-gunmetal color and “Magma” orange and black highlights.

Additional clearance was needed accommodate the 37-inch tall off-road tires mounted on custom 18×9.5-inch aluminum alloy wheels with a dark matte finish.

The Warrior interior is both luxurious and rugged. Nissan says that weekend adventurers use their trucks on a daily basis, so the interior needs to be a comfortable place to spend time. The Warrior showcases a unique steering wheel, additional gauges, and accessory switches. There are even a hot and cold beverage containers in the center console.

In the front, it is a custom upper and lower control arms with performance ball joints.Internal bypass reservoir coil-over shocks, tie-rod extensions, and hydraulic pressurized bump stops complete the package. More work was done in the rear with adjusted-length prototype axles, custom sway bar, and relocated lift blocks, U-bolts, and sway bar mount locations.
