The 2015 Ford F-150 has been revealed and it’s now 700lbs lighter with an available 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine.

Making it’s debut at the stroke of midnight, the new 2015 Ford F-150 is built on a high-strength steel frame and aluminum alloy body that helped it lose 700 lbs. They also put it through 10 million miles of testing to ensure that new aluminum frame is safe.

There will be a choice of four different engines including the addition of a 2.7-liter EcoBoost with standard Auto Start-Stop. This will shut off the engine anytime the vehicle is stopped unless it’s in four-wheel drive or towing. Exact specs for the 2.-liter EcoBoost are still under wraps, but Ford promises it’ll deliver plenty of power. A 3.5-liter V6, 3.5-liter Ecoboost, and 5.0-liter V8 will also be available.

It’s not just a new engine, but lots of new features that are coming for the 2015 Ford F-150. There will be 11 ne class-exclusive features including 360-degree view camera, integrated loading ramps that stow in the bed of the pickup, 400-watt power outlets inside the cab, LED headlights, sideview mirror spotlights, and remote tailgate release.

Additional updates include a new 8″ LCD screen with updated truck apps that will help drivers with things like towing and fuel economy and a customized home screen. There are also plenty of driver-assist features like Curve Control, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Keeping System and a Blind-Spot Information System.

Five trim levels will be offered when the 2015 Ford F-150 goes on sale later this year including the XL, XLT, Lariat, Platinum and King Ranch.
