Welcome to the birth of the TFL mashup comparisons. This video comes to us from November of 2010 and features a drag race between a 2011 GMC Sierra 3500 Dually and a 2011 Hyunday Sonata. Yep, this is perhaps the two most unlikely head-to-head acceleration test.
This 2011 Sierra is showcasing a thorough redesign and a 6.6-liter V8 Duramax turbo-diesel engine with 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of twist. The 2011 Sonata was also all-new that year and featured Hyundai’s new “fluid” design and a 200 hp and 186 lb-ft naturally aspirated four cylinder. The truck weighs about two and half times more, but has nearly four time the torque. Who wins this race?
