It’s about time we hear some news about the 2027 Ford F-150 pickup truck lineup. Here we have a leaked order guide with what appears to be all the details. Ford has not officially confirmed any of this information. Some details may still change. The major news is about the base engine. Let’s dig in!
Engine Changes
This order guide says the base 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine is no more. It’s being replaced by a 3.0L EcoBoost V6. These two engines are part of the same design and family of engines, that Ford calls the “nano” engines.
The current 2.7L EcoBoost V6 is rated at 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and it generally drives quicker than the power specs suggest. The 2.7L V6 may also be F-150’s most reliable engine. Can the 3.0L V6 do the same for the F-150?

All other engine options remain as they are: the 3.5L EcoBoost, the 3.5L PowerBoost Hybrid, the 5.0L V8, the 3.5L H.O. EcoBoost in the Raptor, and the 5.2L supercharged V8 in the Raptor R. All these engine are still listed for the 2027 model year. However, we do not have any power specs updates at this time. My guess is that the power numbers will not change for most of these engines.
We anticipate more significant changes for the 2028 F-150 lineup and beyond.
More Affordable Tremor and Raptor?
The F-150 Tremor and the F-150 Raptor get more basic entry models. There is a Tremor 400A equipment group. The Torsen from locking different can be had a stand-alone option. The current 2026 F-150 Tremor starts at $67,710. The new 400A trim could decrease this starting price, but we do not know this for sure.
The Raptor get a new 800A equipment group. Perhaps, this will make the 2027 F-150 Raptor about the same price as the base Ram 1500 RHO? The 2026 RHO starts at $76,590 and comes with a 540hp high-output Hurricane engine.
Color Changes
The 2027 Ford F-150 lineup gets three new exterior colors: Neptune Blue, Birch Sand, and Wild Green. The Antimatter Blue, Argon Blue, and Avalanche exterior colors are being discontinued. We don’t have the new color samples at this time, but these should be available soon.
