Chevrolet is bringing big changes across their 2027 pickup truck lineup. This includes the powertrain for the midsize trucks, an all-new 2027 Silverado 1500 truck, and a refreshed Silverado HD with its class-leading 8.3L Duramax turbo-diesel. Take a look at all of these trucks side by side. Which one of these tuck is best for you?

2027 Chevy Colorado

Let’s begin with the midsize Chevy Colorado Trail Boss in Serpent Metallic green, it gets the enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax four-cylinder engine. Power gets bumped up to 350 horsepower and between 450 and 455 lb-ft of torque. The engineers focused on more power, sound refinement, and engine smoothness, while still giving you over 1,500 lbs of payload and 7,000 lbs of towing capacity.

All-new 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500

For 2027, Chevy changed almost everything on the light-duty Silverado 1500—new body panels, a new hood, a lowered beltline for better visibility, and a panoramic sunroof. Every engine is now backed by a 10-speed automatic transmission, including the new 6th-generation 5.7-liter V8 with 402 hp and a big 6.6-liter V8 pushing 481 horsepower. Inside, you get a massive upgrade with over 60 inches of combined displays featuring a brand-new user interface designed to be simple, fast, and predictable. Properly configured, it can pull up to a Best-in-Class 13,700 lbs.

2027 Silverado HD – The “MegaMax”

The big dog of the bunch is the 2027 Silverado Heavy Duty, featuring a giant 501 cubic-inch, 8.3-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine. They call it the L6P or the mongoose. We like to call it the MegaMax. It pumps out 555 horsepower and a mind-boggling 1,230 lb-ft of torque through an Allison 10-speed transmission. This 10L1000 transmission gets a new torque converter and other updates to handle all of GM’s durability requirements.

It also features a completely redesigned, efficient exhaust after-treatment system with dual DEF injectors and a larger 9-gallon DEF tank to handle tough emissions regulations while keeping things cooler. When maxed out, it’ll pull up to 38,000 lbs!

Silverado EV Trail Boss

Last but not least, we’ve got the electric beast—the Silverado EV Trail Boss. Packing around 760 horsepower, a massive 205+ kWh battery pack, four-wheel steering, and over 10 kilowatts of export power, it brings serious zero-emissions capability to the table. The Silverado EV you see here is a 2026 model. The EV truck lineup gets minor updates for the 2027 model year. This includes new exterior colors and trim level changes.

If it was me, I would for a new 2027 Silverado 1500 truck. It would be a Custom Trail Boss in Trillium Green exterior color with the new 5.7L V8.

Which one is your favorite truck?
