The 2027 GMC Canyon and the 2027 Chevy Colorado get a new L4B TurboMax engine for the new model year. This is now the most powerful midsize pickup truck in the segment with just one exception of the Ford Ranger Raptor. The latest 2.7L L4B turbocharged I4 engine gets a power upgrade up to 350 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. In the midsize pickup trucks, this engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The previous version of this engine was rated at 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. GM got more power out of this engine with a new turbocharger, pistons, and other tweaks. It’s supposed to sound better and smoother than before.
The 2027 GMC Canyon AT4X has other small updates. It uses new blacked-out wheels. The AT4X is set up to accept dealer-installed Multimatic jounce bumpers, the frame mounts are already there. The AT4X AEV Edition still exists. This one is still the top dog off-road model that comes with the 35-inch all-terrain tires.
The new 2027 Canyon also comes with the universal garage door opener. Midsize pickup trucks are popular because that can easily garaged. Now, it’s easier than ever to integrate it with your home.
