Jeep Rolls Out Two New Truck Concepts to Celebrate 60 Years of Easter Jeep Safari

Easter Jeep Safari is coming up this weekend

This year’s Easter Jeep Safari is in just a few days, and Jeep has something special to celebrate the occasion.

Each year, thousands of Jeep fans make the pilgrimage to Moab, Utah to celebrate one of the largest off-roading events around. This year’s Easter Jeep Safari is a milestone, as the event is hitting its 60th anniversary. And this time, Jeep has a fresh batch of concepts, as it has for many years now, to mark the moment. Two of the six concepts on offer this year are truck-based, including a special Gladiator as well as a concept built on the updated Grand Wagoneer SUV.

Jeep Gladiator Red Rock: A tribute to Red Rock 4-Wheelers

The first concept is a dedication and donation to the folks who have spent more than forty years stewarding the Easter Jeep Safari. Red Rock 4-Wheelers have made it their mission not just to celebrate getting out on the trails around Moab, but preserving the trails and land use in the area since 1982. This year’s Gladiator concept is arguably one of the most practical rollouts to EJS in recent years, as Jeep is donating this particular truck to the organization to actually assist the RR4W team in that task.

Starting with a brand-new Gladiator Rubicon, the truck already comes pretty well equipped for off-roading right off the bat. The truck packs Jeep’s tried-and-true 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, packing 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque through an 8-speed automatic transmission, Dana 44 solid front and rear axles and selectable lockers. That part you’re already familiar with, but the Red Rock concept naturally takes things a few steps farther.

On the exterior, this build brings custom graphics, as well as a set of upgrades from the Jeep Performance Parts catalog. Those include a Rock Krawler 3-inch Overland-X Pro lift, a steel front bumper with an integrated Warn winch, a triple-hoop winch guard and dual-mounted 7-inch TYRI off-road lights. Two additional 5-inch lights are mounted on the cowl, while this build also gets rock rails and door sill guards, upgraded windshield wiper blades, a tool kit and off-road recovery kit, a bed-mounted Leitner Designs active cargo system rack, a Bedslide rolling truck bed cargo tray, an onboard air system and, of course, 17-inch beadlock wheels paired with larger 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 all-terrain tires.

Inside, the JPP catalog gear continues. There’s Armorlite flooring, grab handles and an instrument panel accessory rail.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer Commander concept

This isn’t the first EJS in which we’ve seen the Grand Wagoneer make an appearance, as we saw the Overland concept in 2023 and the Vacationeer concept in 2024. Now, there’s the Commander, which sports the GW’s updated styling as well as a range of useful off-road mods.

The upfitted Grand Wagoneer Commander brings a set of 35-inch Nitto Terra Grappler all-terrain tires around its 20-inch wheels, as well as a custom roof rack with Baja Designs integrated lighting. Custom protective skid plates and a set of unique graphics round out the exterior changes on Jeep’s flagship three-row SUV. The interior remains more or less stock, though this brings interested folks better capability to take their family hauler onto some trails, while maintaining the level of luxury which commands a six-figure price tag at the top end.

All six Easter Jeep Safari concepts will be on display at Walker Drug in downtown Moab during the event, which runs between March 30 and April 3.
