Look at what we found! A 2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid “Powerboost” with over 237,000 miles on the odometer, along with a 2007 Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8 with over 351,000 miles that is just broken in. Let’s drive these high mileage heroes to see how they hold up after these miles.
The Ford F-150 Powerboost hybrid first came on sale for the 2021 model year. Here is a hybrid truck that is just over two years old with nearly enough miles to reach from the earth to the moon! That is a lot of miles to put on any pickup truck in a short about of time. How does it drive? Does it have a check engine light? How does it start on this cold 12F day?
The short answer is, it drives pretty much like new. The interior of this F-150 XLT crew cab 4×4 is a bit worn, but it’s holding up. The electric mode, the engine seem to work very well in concert. The transmission is still quick to shift, and there is a lot of power on tap. The stock power rating is 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. We do not know the history of this particular truck, but it has likely served a fleet truck. It means that it should have been well maintained.
There is a reserve price on this F-150 hybrid is around $18,750. Would you buy it for that about of money with this many miles?
The 2007 Toyota Tundra 4×4 double cab is equipped with the 5.7L iForce V8 that was rated at 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. It has a 6-speed automatic transmission. It started right away and it also has not check engine light or any trouble codes. It does not quiet drive like new after 351,000+ miles. The transmission is not as smooth as it may have once been. It may need a good service.
Still it’s a great sign that this Tundra still has a lot of life left in it. There is a reserve price of around $5,000 for this Tundra. What do you think? Would you pay $5,000 for a Tundra like this?
