These are two recent pickup truck recalls that are worth following up on because both have a potential to cause an incident or accident, and they affect a lot of owners.
The Ford engine problem has to do with a fractured engine valve in 2.7L and 3.0L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engines. It also affects Ford and Lincoln SUVs that use these engines. A total of 90,736 vehicles are affected by this recall. If you experience this problem, the engine may seize and you may have to deal with this in traffic. The fix to this problem is involved because it requires repairing or replacing your engine. This will take a lot of planning and a long repair time.
The Ram problem has to do with a software problem in the truck’s ABS module that may disable the ESC system. The Stability Control system helps the driver maintain control of the vehicle on slippery roads. If the ESC is disabled and the driver is not aware of this, it could be a problem. The fix for this is a software update that is done at the dealership. This should not take a long time, but we do not have a more exact estimate.
