Take a look! The refreshed 2025 GMC Yukon Denali prototype is shown with very light camouflage as it’s undergoing testing in Australia. Here are all the images we have. Why is it testing in Australia? Let’s dig in!
We have already seen the world debut of the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban. Now, it’s Yukon’s turn. Production models of the refreshed GMC Yukon will be fully unveiled a little later this year, but this is our next best chance to see what it will look like.
We have these images courtesy of GM Australia and GoAuto.com.au. The new Yukon is undergoing testing in Australia because it’s being converted to right-hand-drive to be on sale in Australia. General Motors Special Vehicles (GMSV) is the company that is converting the “made in the USA” GMC Yukon SUVs.
If a right-hand-drive conversion sounds simple, it’s not. New vehicles have many tightly integrated electronic systems! According to this GoAuto.com.au article, Ford picked an Australian company RMA Automotive to convert the new Ford F-150 trucks to right-hand-drive. These converted trucks are under four separate recalls within the first three months of this year (2024). Thanks to Robert R. for highlighting this F-150 story for us.
As far as the 2025 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are concerned. We expect these popular luxurious SUVs to retain their engines as they are now. The current Yukon can be purchased with: 5.3L V8, 6.2L V8, or a 3.0L turbo-diesel I6. The luxurious Yukon Denali can be had with either a 420 horsepower 6.2L V8 or a 305 horsepower 3.0L Duramax Diesel I6.
We cannot wait to test drive the refreshed 2025 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, and Escalade later this year.
