We waited long enough! The new generation U.S.-spec 2024 Ford Ranger is finally unveiled to the world. You may be surprised what it had and does not have! Let’s dig in!
This article is focused on the standard 2024 Ford Ranger lineup. Ford is also bringing the Ranger Raptor off-road top-of-the-line truck to the United States. We have a separate Ranger Raptor deep dive video and article coming up tomorrow on www.TFLoffroad.com.
The new Ranger has an updated frame with a wider front section to accommodate two V6 twin-turbo engines. The new Ranger has a wheelbase that is nearly two inches longer than before. All of this gain was achieved by moving the front axle forward. The new truck’s track is also about two inches wider than before. This creates a more stable platform and a better approach angle in the front. Ford engineers kept the rear leaf springs, but they moved the rear shocks outside the frame for all 2024 Ford Ranger trim levels.

The new 2024 U.S. Ford Ranger will only be available as a crew cab with a short 5-foot bed. This appears to be a new trend. The all-new 2023 Chevy Colorado also simplified its lineup to solely include a crew cab short bed configuration.
Here is how the new Ranger compares to some of its most popular competitors. The all-new 2024 Toyota Tacoma is not officially unveiled yet, but it will be on May 19th, 2023. Please come back to TFLtruck for all the details on the new pickup trucks.
