The new Endurance electric pickup truck by Lordstown Motors has been in the news recently as the company begins production of the hub-motor-powered EV pickup. Lordstown Motors and Foxconn announced that the first two trucks rolled off the assembly line on September 29, 2022. Lordstown Motors is partnered with Foxconn on several levels. The Lordstown Ohio manufacturing facility is now the Foxconn EV Ohio Plant. Foxconn is investing more money into electric vehicle development with Lordstown Motors.
Many reservation holders initially put $1,000 towards this electric pickup truck in 2018. This reservation fee was later reduced to $100, and the money was refunded. However, over four years have gone by and some reservation holders still do not have a truck or any time estimate on when it may be built and delivered. Here is a report from a TFLtruck viewer and Endurance pickup truck reservation holder, Larry.
Larry writes:
“I tried contacting LMC to ask about my reservation but got absolutely no response. I tried calling their EV Sales in Irvine Ca and the factory in Ohio, but all I got was an answering machine! Left a message to call back – no response. I tried their email address and no response at all.
Strange way to treat a reservation holder. My original $1,000 reservation was to Workhorse in 2018 which was transferred to LMC (Lordstown Motors Company) when they took over. In 2020, $900 was returned at that time as they only required a one-hundred-dollar reservation.
If you’re really interested in testing their truck my suggestion is to try contacting them directly. In my follow-up email, I told them I wanted to transfer my reservation to TFL and explained that it would be a wonderful opportunity to get a lot of exposure showing the Endurance pickup truck operating at the extreme. I think it should perform better than ordinary trucks, but all I got was silence.”
Unfortunately, Larry has heard no update about his pickup truck, and his calls are not being returned.
