The 2022 Ram 1500 Backcountry edition joins the lineup for this model year. It’s a package that combines exterior style elements with off-road equipment into a truck that is not as aggressive as a Ram Rebel but offers good value. In this video comparison, Alex shows us the Backcountry edition in detail and how it compares to his personal Ram Rebel. Also, this is a long-term video update on his 2020 Ram Rebel that has over 17,000 miles on the clock.

This Ram 1500 Backcountry truck is based on the BigHorn trim. It includes the two-tone exterior paint, body-color grille, and blacked-out light bezels and badges. The Backcountry includes an Off-Road package that offers a one-inch suspension lift, rear locking differential, skid plates, and 32-inch all-terrain tires.

The Rebel has a slightly higher ground clearance than the Backcountry. The Rebel has a unique hood, grille, 33-inch all-terrain, and front skid plate treatment. Both of these trucks are equipped with a 5.7L HEMI V8 eTorque powertrain.
