Could Jeep be teasing the upcoming new Gladiator 4xe plug-in electric pickup truck? Jeep recently published this interior picture as a cover photo on their Facebook page. Thanks to JeepGladiatorForum.com and user ShrimpHappens for bringing this to our attention.
At first, the image appear pretty normal. A closer inspection shows that this is an interior of a Jeep 4xe plug-in hybrid. What’s the big deal, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe has been on sale for a while. If you look into the driver’s side rearview mirror – the Jeep appears to have a Gladiator roll-bar. It’s not a 2-door Wrangler because the center dash has four window switches.

As most manufacturers are looking to electrify their trucks, SUVs, and cars – a Gladiator 4xe should be a good addition to the lineup. Since the 4xe gas/electric plug-in hybrid system requires the truck to carry a sizable battery – the payload and towing capability of such a truck will be very important. This pickup still needs to be able to do some work.
