Here is the new 2022 Nissan Frontier S King Cab prototype truck testing in the wild. This is the first time we get to see the all-new King Cab in the wild with almost no camouflage. Big thanks to @Lurkin for sending us these images. This truck was seen driving around near Maricopa, Arizona.

Nissan has officially unveiled the 2022 Frontier as a crew cab PRO-4X model. The PRO-4X is the most off-road equipped model, and it is also the most optioned, and (likely) the most pricey version of the new truck. The prototype we see here appears to be a base model (aka. Frontier S). This truck is rolling on what appear to be steel wheels. It has simple black bumpers, a blacked-out grille, basic headlights, and not many other fancy features. If this truck is a 2WD, this configuration will likely be the new value leader for the Frontier lineup.

Nissan has revealed one engine option that will power the new 2022 Frontier. It’s the new 3.8-liter gas V6 with 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. The V6 is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. We do not yet know if Nissan plans to offer other engine options in the new Frontier.

The new 2022 Frontier is expected to go on sale in the United States in the summer of 2021.
