Toyota has not revealed any official information about the upcoming next-generation Toyota Land Cruiser 300-series. Now, we have another information leak that came via this Kakaku Forum. This information allegedly came from a Toyota dealer. While the Toyota Land Cruiser is discontinued in the U.S. after this year, it does not mean that we cannot glean very interesting information from this that may be related to other upcoming Toyota trucks. Does it shed some light on what’s coming in the next Toyota Tundra, Sequoia, and/or Lexus LX? Once again – no official specs for next-gen vehicles are available yet.

This leak suggests the next Land Cruiser 300-series will have two powertrain options: a twin-turbo gas V6 and a twin-turbo diesel engines. Once again, this is based on the Japanese specification vehicle. It is highly unlikely that U.S.-spec trucks will get a diesel engine. However, this 3.5-liter twin-turbo gas V6 will allegedly be rated at 420 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque. There is not mention of the V8.

The leak also suggests that a 10-speed automatic will also be part of this Land Cruiser powertrain. This leaks also suggests a luxurious interior with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The specs include front and rear locking differentials.

There is currently no mention about a Lexus LX variant or any mention of the Hybrid powertrain. Will the next 2022 Toyota Tundra have a 420 horsepower twin-turbo gas V6? We will have to wait and see, but it now sounds more likely than ever.
