Ford announces a new multiyear partnership with the Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby. Ram Trucks have been a long time partners of the Kentucky derby, but this all changes starting this year. The premier Kentucky Derby event is scheduled to take place on May 2, 2020. This will be the 146th running of the race.

The 2020 Ford Super Duty will be the featured truck, but this partnership is about more than just capable heavy duty trucks that can pull heavy horse trailers. The Louisville, Kentucky is home to Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant. This is where the Ford Super Duty, the Ford Expedition, and the Lincoln Navigator are built. That’s not all. The Louisville Assembly Plant builds the new 2020 Ford Escape and the Lincoln Corsair.

This partnership has many benefits for race week attendees, fans, participants, and Ford employees. Ford is names the official car, truck, non-luxury SUV, and van partner of the Kentucky Derby. As such, Ford Escape, Explorer, and Expedition SUVs will be displayed during the race and also used by the horse owners to move around the facilities.

Special access to the event will be given for FordPass Rewards members. Several celebrations are planned for veterans and active duty military personnel. Ford employees and their guests will get free admission to a race day at Churchill Downs.
