This sketch is part of FCA/Ram’s Drive for Design Contest – but is there more to it?
The sketch in question is part of a special FCA contest to have high school students sketch a Ram truck of the future. Here at the details:
Drive for Design contest is open to U.S. high school students in grades 10-12; three winners selected. Prizes include an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour and mentoring time with leading designers at the FCA Design studios; scholarship to attend College for Creative Studies Summer Experience Transportation Design program; and serving as a Junior Judge at the prestigious EyesOn Design Car Show. – – Ram/FCA
Writer and artist Josh Welton joins will be a guest judge. Time for this contest is limited. Entries due by May 1, 2020. Go to www.FCAdriveForDesign.com to get additional information and to register.
… But – what about THIS sketch?
Considering all of the renderings, proposed design cues and prototypes we’ve seen, this sketch has the hallmarks of what we expect to see in the upcoming Ram Rebel TRX. The unique grill, hood and fender design certainly looks the part. Is it possible that this image gives us a taste of what to expect (some) of the look and feel of the TRX will be?
It wouldn’t be the first time FCA has used a promotional image that teases a future product.
For the record, if they opt to keep that yellow as part of the upcoming TRX, I wouldn’t mind. It looks epic and I have yet to see a yellow Raptor from the Ford factory.
