We finally have the official pricing for the all-new 2027 Ram ProMaster City cargo van and passenger wagon. It’s a new midsize van that’s larger than any minivan, but smaller than a large commercial van. Indeed, it starts at under $40,000 as initially promised. Here is everything else we know.
2027 Ram ProMaster City
This type of vehicle doesn’t exist in the USA anymore. Ram is bringing it back. Ram Trucks is using the global reach and manufacturing capability of Stellantis to bring this proven midsize van platform to the United States. This platform has been on sale in many other countries and regions around the world for some time.
Remember the Mercedes-Benz Metris? The new ProMaster City is about the same size. It has a cargo floor space of 9’3”. The space between the wheel wells is 48.9 inches. This means you can put two loaded 4’x4′ pallets inside of the cargo van without much trouble. You can also stack 4’x8′ sheets of material back there. Ram says the cargo van has a total of 167 cu-ft of cargo volume. It has up to 2,175 pounds of payload capacity. That’s a lot.
The starting price for the 2027 Ram ProMaster City Tradesman cargo is $39,995 (including a $2,595 destination charge). If you choose the new ProMaster City Tradesman passenger wagon with three rows of seats, the starting price goes up to $42,695.
No matter which version of the new ProMaster City you choose, it will be powered by a 166 horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that is rated at 221 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a traditional 8-speed automatic transmission.
This is one roomy van that can also be configured with more options in an SLT trim that costs an additional $1,500. The ProMaster City SLT cargo starts at $41,495 and the SLT passenger wagon starts at $44,195.
