The new 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 4WD off-road truck is officially here, and it is not a Chevy Colorado ZR2 clone that some have hoped for.
2021 GMC Canyon AT4
The new truck has unique AT4 exterior and interior appointments. The grille is larger than before. There are red tow hook up front that link this new Canyon AT4 with its bigger brothers – Sierra AT4 and Sierra HD AT4.
The Canyon AT4 is wearing 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. It has a G80 automatically locking rear differential. GMC says the truck has off-road tuned suspension and an advanced hill descend control system.
It does not have a suspension lift, or a wider stance. It is not said to be equipped with DSSV Multimatic spool valve shocks. Power still comes courtesy of a 3.6-liter gas V6 with 308 horsepower or a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel Duramax I4 with 186 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.
The first-ever Canyon AT4 will be joined by a refreshed and luxurious 2021 Canyon Denali. GMC says both of these 2021 trucks will be available for sale later this year. Pricing will be available closer to launch.
