The report states the 2021 model year trucks will go on sale in the summer of 2020 with relatively minor software changes that include towing and the truck’s elaborate camera system. The report does not more details about what software is changing or what stays the same.

If you are waiting for the 2021 Chevy and GMC trucks in hope of style and design changes to the interior and/or exterior, you will not get it according to this report. Further design changes will likely come later during a mid-cycle refresh.

If you configure the 2020 Silverado HD or a Sierra HD with the latest 360-degree camera system, you are already getting 15 different camera views. It’s not just a gimmick. We find the front, side, and rear camera views very useful during everyday driving and towing trailers.

So far, Chevrolet and GMC are satisfied with the new 2020 heavy duty truck sales numbers. The initial customer reception is a good one, and GM is investing money into their manufacturing facilities to increase production capacity and satisfy the demand.
