
GMC executive, Duncan Aldred, recently stated in a CNBC interview that the company is “Certainly, it’s something we’re considering” when it comes to producing an electric version of their biggest pickup trucks. GMC unveiled the all-new 2020 GMC Sierra HD truck in San Diego this week with a turbo-diesel engine under its hood.
Electric pickup trucks are a hot topic of discussion. Ford recently made a statement that they are also considering an all-electric F-Series trucks in addition to the hybrid F-150 that is coming within the next year.
Tesla is expected to unveil their electric pickup truck within the next several months. Other start-up companies such as Rivian, Bollinger, and Atlis are also jumping into the game with electric truck prototypes and concepts.
