The new 2018 Ford F-150 Diesel is already reaching dealerships now (May 2018), so we will move to other trucks that are still several months away.

2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 / Trailboss

We know that the 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 is all-new, and we know that is targeted to go on sale before the end of 2018 calendar year. The new Trailboss off-road edition is joining the Silverado 1500 lineup with a two-inch lift, aggressive tires, and much more.

2019 GMC Sierra 1500 / AT4

The fully-redesigned GMC Sierra 1500 joins the Silverado with a very similar release date of later this year (2018). The new AT4 off-road version is very similar in spirit to what the new Trailboss will be.

The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 is already on sale now, but it is currently offered with just one engine – the 5.7L HEMI V8. The 3.6L V6 eTorque and 5.7L HEMI V8 eTorque mild-hybrid truck will join the lineup in several months. The eTorque system uses a small 0.4 kWh battery and an accessory/belt-connected electric motor to help launch the truck, provide smooth engine start/stop operation and smooth gear changes.

(?) 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor

Ford announced that the Ford F-150 Raptor is being updated soon, but the company did not specify precise timeframe or what the changes will include. This is why we put a (?) next to this truck. We do not yet have much official information about this update.

(?) 2019 Nissan Frontier

The next-generation Nissan Frontier is also a question. We know that Nissan is continuing to work on the next generation of the truck, but we have no official word on when the next Frontier will reach the dealerships. We also do not know the specifications on the new truck.

(?) 2019/2020 Toyota Tundra

We have a lot of questions about the next generation of the Tundra. Toyota has been very quiet about any official information about the truck. We do not yet know when it is coming or what it will look like. Will it be a hybrid, fuel-cell electric, continue with a V8, or all of the above?

2019 Ford Ranger

We know quiet a bit about the upcoming 2019 Ranger. The truck will have a 2.3L EcoBoost I4 and a 10-Speed automatic transmission. It will be offered in two cab configurations: extended and crew cabs. It will have several trim levels, including the FX4 off-road package. We still do not know the power specification, fuel economy, or payload/towing numbers.

2019 Jeep Truck JT

The all-new Jeep Truck (JT) is expected to hit the dealerships in April/May 2019 timeframe. It is based on the new JL Wrangler, but it will have a longer wheelbase, and a sizable bed. There are leaked documents that suggest the JT will have a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 option and towing capability on around 6,500 lbs.

2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Duramax/ GMC Sierra 1500 Duramax

The next-gen Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 will offer a 3.0L inline-6 Duramax turbo-diesel engine sometime in calendar year 2019.

2020? Ram 1500 EcoDiesel

The 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 is coming back to the new Ram 1500, but Ram says it will happen sometime in calendar year 2019. The Jeep version of the new engine will have a rating of 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. We do not know the exact specifications for the Ram’s version of the engine. We also do not know if Ram will call it the 2019 or 2020 model yet.

2020 Chevy Silverado HD 2500/3500

Chevrolet has released one image of the upcoming next generation 2020 Silverado Heavy Duty. We don’t know much about this truck other than that it will go on sale near the end of calendar year 2019. The image shows that the hood scoop will return for the 2020 model, as well as the Z71 off-road version.

(?) 2020 Ram HD 2500 / 3500

Ram has announced that the production of  their next generation HD trucks is moving to Michigan. The company is targeting a full-redesigned truck, but we do not yet know if it will arrive as a 2020 model.

(?) 2020 Ford Super Duty F250/F350

Ford has announced that the Super Duty trucks are getting an update in 2019 calendar year. We do not know exactly what the changes will entail. It’s possible that a new gas engine and a heavy duty 10-speed automatic transmission will be a part of it.

2021 Ford Bronco

Ford says the next Ford Bronco will be based on the Ford Ranger frame/chassis, and it will arrive “in 2020”. The company also released just one teaser image of the new Bronco, and the vehicle is under a veil. The image shows that the Bronco will have an overall square shape and rounded wheel arches. It will carry a spare tire on the rear hatch, much like its competitor – the Jeep Wrangler. Yes, a Bronco concept was used in a recent movie – The Rampage. That vehicles was largely based on a 2004 Ford Bronco concept. Perhaps, it’s in the movie to get public’s reaction before the all-new Bronco is released in about two years.

Ram Rebel TR/TRX

Truck enthusiasts are salivating at the prospect of a Hellcat-powered Ram Rebel truck. The rumor mill that surround the so-called Rebel TRX (and TR) is still very strong, but Ram has made no official statements about the ultra-powerful Ram trucks. We still just have to go on the Rebel TRX Concept truck that Ram brought our around two years ago at the State Fair of Texas. The latest rumor (based on the information at the 5thgenrams.com) are that there will be a Rebel TR with a 7.0L V8 with over 500 horsepower, and a Rebel TRX with a supercharged 6.2L Hellcat V8 with around 707 horsepower. We hope that Ram is listening to all of this feedback. and they eventually bring the TR and/or TRX trucks to production.
