Ram says ‘Hell No’ to Ram Heavy Duty Hellcat Spy Pics

This week the really big trucks news was all the buzz about the THESE Ram Heavy Duty Hellcat spy pics.

Numerous car and truck publications published these spy photos and of course asked the inevitable question, “Is RAM going to be the next brand that uses the Hellcat engine?”

However in all of the internet Ram Hellcat buzz it seems that no one bothered to actually ask Ram about the black trucks parked on their grounds. So we asked Ram if these pictures were the next Ram HD Hellcat and the answer came back short and sweet: Hell no!

In fact, the truck you see pictured hasn’t moved from spot pictured in about two years. Our source at Ram told us this test truck has been parked in the same place since 2014 and perhaps even the trucks brakes are rusted tight. It is definitely not a contender for a new 707 HP Ram Heavy Duty Hellcat.

However our friends over at the www.topspeed.com produced the rendering above of what a Ram Hellcat truck might look like.

Shoehorning a 707 HP hellcat engine into Ram pickup is certainly a good idea from a our point of view but would anyone actually pay well North of $75,000 for a pickup truck? That’s a question that we can’t answer, but it would be a fun and we suspect expensive experiment on the part of FCA to try to find out.

We’ll keep you posted on any new Ram Heavy Duty Hellcat, but the real question is – would you pay $75,000 dollars for a Ram truck with the 707 HP Hellcat engine?

While you contemplate the question, here is some Hellcat drifting.
