The Ford Transit remains supreme after a full year of sales in 2015. Company’s full-size commercial van quickly rose to the top of the sales chart after its US market introduction. When the year closed, it sold 117,577 units. This is nearly twice the number of Express vans that Chevrolet sold over the same period. Although, the Chevy Express had a good month of December with a 31.2% improvement over 2014.
The GMC Savana is the most improved van for the month of December. It improved a whooping 61.2%. The Ram ProMaster had an outstanding closing month of 2015 as it jumped over the Ford E-Series for the third place for the month.
In case you are wondering about the Ford E-Series numbers. The E-Series van and wagon sales have been discontinued. The Ford Transit has replaced it. However, the E-Series cutaway and chassis sales continue and will do so for the remainder of the decade. These are used by up-fitters for shuttles, specialty vehicles, and RVs.
