Power Service – Cummins diesel dragster

Strap yourself into this diesel powered rocket and blast off down the quarter mile. This Power Service drag racer uses a motor based on a Cummins diesel. This 390-cubic-inch power plant uses only the best of latest technology.  The block is billet aluminum, as are rods, roller cam, and lifters.  Hamilton provides a custom case head with Scheid 6 axis porting.  It’s all custom and is estimated to produce over 2,500 horsepower, when running 150 psi of boost.  That should get it down to road.

A little frame twist from this monster diesel.

TFLtruck visited another diesel drag racing event at Bandimere, but we did not see any competition trucks get into the 7-second range.  Many of them were running in the 8’s.  This open-engined racer hunkered down and put down a run deep into the 7’s.  Reminder, Bandimere Speedway is over a mile above sea level and oxygen is at a premium up here.

Watch this violent take off here.
