Look out Ford, FCA is testing their 2016 Ram ProMaster City at high altitude. These photos we sent to us featuring the 2016 Ram ProMaster City (FIAT Doblo) as it was undergoing testing in the thin air. The cladding is deceptive, but many people agree that this is a FIAT Doblo/2016 Ram ProMaster City.
Check out the trailer they are using as part of the testing. We’re estimating the weight of the trailer to be between 1,500 and 2,500 lbs.
It’s quite common to see test vehicles hauling their maximum towing rating during testing. This much load should make the 2016 Ram PromMater City strain as it heads up to over 12,000 feet in election. Oil, transmission, cooling and emissions are all pushed to the extremes with this type of testing.
The heavy cladding cannot disguise the fact that the 2016 Ram ProMaster City is about the same size as the 2014 Ford Transit Connect Wagon.
FCA is on a mission to integrate as many FIAT products as they (logically) can. By doing this, with vehicles like the 2016 Ram ProMaster City/FIAT Doblo, FCA leapfrogs many automaker with a larger portfolio. Time will tell if this tactic pays off.
We’ve got lots of juicy FCA/Ram info coming your way soon. Stay tuned!
