Mother Trucker is a new series starting on TFLtruck where we take a truck, and an activity, and go have some fun (usually resulting in something getting destroyed). This first episode features Roman, Michael, and Tommy in their attempts to fly a kite with a truck.
We turned to the store Into the Wind for help with selecting our kites. Given that the idea was to pull these kites around with trucks, we decided that we couldn’t settle for any small kite. Thanks to the expertise of the folks at Into the Wind, we were able to find a couple kites that suited our needs. The only thing left to do was to go and fly them.
Roman was up first, pulling his kite in a 2017 Nissan Titan XD Diesel with the Pro4X off-road package. His attempt was relatively successful, pulling the kite around our dirt track (at IMI Motorsports) without many problems.
Tommy went next in our long-term test vehicle, a 2017 Nissan Frontier 2WD base model, which we call “Final Frontier”. He took the green dragon kite to see how he could do with a smaller truck and smaller kite. All was going well until Roman got a bit too close with the drone. We suspected something would get destroyed, but we were hopeful that it would be one of the kites, rather than our expensive drone.
