The new TRX has an updated Hellcat V8 engine that is rated at 777 hp and 680 lb-ft of torque. It has a tow rating of 8,100 lbs. It has an integrated trailer brake controller and a special Tow mode. There is one negative. The truck you see in this video has a payload rating of 901 lbs. This is a small amount of payload. It’s similar to some new Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks.
Thankfully, we are pulling a 6,000 lbs boat and trailer. This trailer is set up with its tandem axles further away from the hitch. Most of the boat’s weight is in the back – where the engine is. It means it has a relatively light weight tongue weight. It’s about 400 pounds, according to our new Weigh-Safe Aero hitch.
We have five people in the truck, so we are fully loaded.
