Take a close and hands-on look at the 2026 Kia Tasman midsize pickup truck lineup! Tommy is at the South Korean Auto Show and he runs into several of these new Tasman pickups. Let’s dig in!
The exterior style is polarizing to say the least, but the specs and capability are legit. Tommy is also very impressed by the interior comfort, design, and features. The Kia Tasman is currently not slated to be sold in the United States, but it is aimed directly the established players in the midsize market: Toyota Hilux/Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Chevy S-10/Colorado, Jeep Gladiator, and many others.
The Tasman is a body-on-frame midsize pickup with a solid rear axle, an optional locking rear differential, an optional integrated trailer brake controller, and more than enough payload and towing capability. It’s rated to tow up to 7,716 lbs (3,500 kg).
It has a choice of gasoline or turbo-diesel engines, and an option for a manual transmission. It has all of the technology you could ever want in a pickup truck: 360-degree camera views, off-road modes, roof rails, bed toppers, and much more.

Kia also unveiled a Tasman Weekender concept that looks to be tough enough to take on the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, Ford Ranger Raptor, Chevy Colorado ZR2, and the Jeep Gladiator Mojave.
