Video: Why Are We Towing Our New 2025 Toyota 4Runner Back to Colorado? Silverado HD Diesel Road Trip

It's a 2,200 Mile Trailer-Towing Road Trip.

Roman and Tommy are towing our brand-new 2025 Toyota 4Runner from California to Colorado. Why?

It’s because we picked the 4Runner up at a California dealership, but we want to title and register it in Colorado. This allows our company a tax advantage since we traded in our 2016 Mercedes G-Wagen for the new 4Runner.

The boys are using our new 2025 Chevy Silverado HD Trail Boss as the “tow pig”. It’s powered by a 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel V8. We sold our 2022 Ram HD Cummins and bought this Silverado HD Duramax instead. Our company has never owned a GM heavy-duty diesel pickup truck before (although I personally owned a 2002 Silverado HD 2500 Duramax years ago).

The Chevy is pulling around 8,000 lbs for this 2,200-mile round trip. The new 4Runner plus the trailer weigh around 8,000 lbs together. Since this Silverado HD is rated to tow up to 18,500 lbs with a conventional hitch, this 8,000 pound load is not big deal for it. The big truck is barely breaking a sweat. The guys towed the G-Wagen to California, and they are pulling the 4Runner home.

They are seeing an average of 11.5 MPG while pulling this type of load. Keep in mind, this trip is following the I-70 and I-15 interstate route and the speed limits range between 65-80 MPH.
