Consider this off-grid capable gooseneck camping trailer. It’s called the Living Vehicle GT38. It’s a luxurious home on wheels that will be able to sustain itself with a huge solar array, backup power, and a way to make its own drinking water. This is the largest version of the Living Vehicle trailers, and it has a starting price of $449,995. Let’s dig in.

Living Vehicle is a company that came on the scene over the last several years. Their camper trailer focus is on off-grid capability and interior style and convenience. They use top quality marine grade or automotive grade components and mostly aluminum construction with a steel frame underneath. This gooseneck-based (not a 5th-wheel) GT38 trailer caught our eye due to its unique layout and capability. It’s setup with triple-axle chassis and larger off-road tires. The total cumulative axle capacity is at least 21,000 lbs, but it could be more in its final iteration.

The roof of the trailer primarily houses solar panels, sky lights, and vents. The trailer has a multi-zone HVAC system, but the main components are housed below the floor and on the driver’s side. This makes more space for solar panels up top and a smooth top. The company’s HD30 conventional hitch trailer that they currently build is also designed to be four-season capable (down to about 4F). We assume that the GT38 is the same.

The trailers can include a patented water generation system that captures moisture from the air stores it for later use. The trailer can also be equipped with a propane-powered generator as a backup system.

Another distinct feature is an 8-foot swing down patio/balcony that is placed near the kitchen/dining room area for great access to the outdoors. Pricing for Living Vehicle trailers starts at around $299,995. The company is said to also be working on a CyberTrailer that matches its design to the Tesla Cybertruck. That is another story for a later time.
