We originally reported our hope to see a new 3.0-liter twin-turbo I6 “Hurricane” power plant in the Ram 1500. Today’s announcement does not bring this news. The limited quantity Lunar edition off-road trucks come in a special new Ceramic Gray exterior color and special interior trim and options.
The TRX Lunar is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 702 horsepower. The new Ram 1500 Rebel Lunar is powered by a 5.7L V8 with 395 horsepower. If it ain’t broke, why fix it?
The 2023 Ram 1500 Lunar edition pricing will start at $70,310, plus a $1,895 destination = $72,205. The more capable TRX Lunar edition will start at $106,445, plus a $1,895 destination = $108,340. This starting price is awfully close to the sticker price on a new 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R that packs a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 of its own.
